After a fight that leaves Maria and Kyle Crane in an awkward situation, it also leaves Maria in a secret that she must hide from Kyle when she finds out that she is pregnant with his child. But before she is ready to tell Kyle about their child, Kyle and Maria are met with a man who speaks of people are immune to the virus even after being bitten. Lena sends Kyle and Maria together because they are the strongest and can really use the adventure together to work as one once again. 
When they follow the map that the stranger had on him, they find a new side of the infected and villagers who believe in someone called The Mother. But can she really be the real thing of being someone who can make the person immune to the virus or is some cliche thing?
