My whole body trembled as I tried to stop the tear that's threatening to fall. I pulled my arm away from his grip not liking the way he held my arm tightly, but very gently. Like he was afraid to hurt me but he didn't want to let go. I shook my head mentally, my feet moving faster, away from the person that destroyed everything I've believed in for.

"I'm sorry" I froze mid-step, icy cold sensation travelled to my spine and I can't seem to urge my limbs to move. I swallowed the lump in my throat, shaking my head as a painful chuckle escape my lips.

"Sorry doesn't change anything, Harry"

And with that, I walk away.

Sequel to Love Is A Losing Game I could accelerate time so hours pass in minutes. I could slow time down, the world around me coming to a near halt at the blink of an eye. But I did not have the ability to go back in time and mend my mistakes. No, that is something that I had to face like everyone else. With sudden, lingering pangs of regret when I was reminded of what I'd done. With longing glances to the woman I knew needed space when I wanted nothing more than to be close to her. With stinging indents formed on my tongue from holding back everything I wanted to say. That's what everyone did, right? Wait until it's the right time to apologize, to explain my side of the story in the hope that she would understand at the very worst, forgive at the best. But even to someone who had all of the time in the world, it never felt like the right time. And, no matter how many times I imagined the conversation in my head, nothing I came up with sounded like the right thing to say.

Peter has failed, and look at him now.” He gestured to Peter, who was on his knees and was getting punched and kicked repeatedly by a large group of pirates. “And why don’t we watch your precious Will.” He grabbed my chin and forced me to look at Will, who was suffering the same fate as Peter. “Oh and don’t forget about your dear little Lost Boys.” I heard a scream and looked at Aaron, who was being hit by a man three times his size. “Stop! He’s just a little boy, please. You have me, you have Will and even Peter; we’re whom you want. Just let them go, you’ve won.” I sighed as the wicked man grinned at me. “Very brave Alison, very brave indeed. Well men, she said let the boys go, so let them go!” He said and I went pale as I realized what I had done. “No! Stop!” I screamed but it was too late. I watched with tears in my eyes as a pirate picked up Aaron and set him on the plank. I started to thrash around in the ropes, and felt them loosen a little bit. Come on! “I never liked children.” Hook said absentmindedly as Aaron started to cry, and looked at me, and I smiled at him. “Think of the stars Aaron, think of the stars.” I whispered as his scream rang out through the boat, just as I broke through the ropes and attacked. It was a deep teal green colour with gold and blue blended in with it that reminded me of his eyes. I asked slowly, my heartbeat had almost reduced to normal again but I was feeling a strange pull towards the creature in front of me. "I am a Merman and you are my mate." His voice was deep and sounded like music the way he spoke. But mate? "Mate?" I asked hoping to find out the way in which he directed this word. "My love," he paused looking into my hazel eyes. "Come closer human you are beautiful...and mine."
