Maki's life was once full of smiles and laughs where was raised in a loving family until her life came crashing down when her parents died from a car accident by the time when she turned 6. Devastated by their deaths, Maki became socially withdrawn and isolate herself from her friends and family. Her depression got even worst in high school when Maki's grades start dropping like flies and causes trouble with the school principal. Fed up with her rebellious antics, the principal warns her that if she can't behave in school, then he'll have to expelled her from school. That is when the principal suggests to her parents to have Maki be placed as the new manager of Too Academy's basketball team.
