PROTAGONIST
Ria grew up in a worldwide city. She doesn't know what plants are, what animals are, what dirt is, or what disease is.

Through her discovery of the last refuge of nature, she begins to rethink her life plan. Due to the inspiring influence of the strangled natural world Ria decides to switch professions, forming a rift within her family that may never recover.

WORLD
A plastic planet, sterilized by nanobots, has forsaken and forgotten nature. Centuries ago humans domed off the last stretch of natural land.

Imprisoned, the plants and animals have become a pressure cooker of fantasy creatures. With the whimsical sincerity of Narnia and the dangerous vengeful spirit of Nausicaa's jungle, Earth's flora and fauna are unrecognizable.

A.I., potion brewers, portals, hoverbike gangs, and houses with rockets strapped to them. Our protagonist, Ria, will be diving into a world she never thought was possible.

Acacia Taylor and Daniel Wright are two seemingly normal high school students. They both have their own distinct quirks that made them unique, but over all they were both normal. As chances would have it, both of these two normal every day students fall in love and begin dating. But once things begin to run down a rather strange path, the two begin to make decisions that could spell death for them. As things run their course and misfortunes play their roles the two are separated so that they have to travel lengths previously thought to be impossible just for the chance to see each other one last time. After Earth is ravaged by climate change and the Cataclysm-the largest earthquake in history- humans are struggling to survive. Swathes of unlivable landscapes, the Barrens, continue to grow. Everywhere else is a battleground, where humans fight each other for food, water, and shelter. Humanity's numbers further dwindle as they fall victim to a new bacteria unearthed by the Cataclysm, Dementium feralis. It causes humans to lose their higher cognitive functions and turn feral, like the primates they originated from. There is no cure. Nia is a survivor of this world. She makes a living doing the riskiest endeavors-traveling the Barrens, collecting survivors, and hunting for the remaining vaccines that can help delay feralism. People are in awe of her willingness to risk her life, but it's easy when your days are numbered, and hers are. She's turning feral. However, her latest foray into the Barrens leads to an incredible discovery: someone with the potential to create a feralism cure. But it takes time and risk to create a cure, without promise of a payout. To Nia, some fates are worse than death, and the only absolute is the oblivion of feralism awaiting her. She must choose what to embrace: the feralism that could be humanity's only survival, or the risk for a cure. **** Now available on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/Well-Organized-Mind-Andrea-Soung/dp/B0C6BQTZ2B/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=Fl3EC&content-id=amzn1.sym.ed85217c-14c9-4aa0-b248-e47393e2ce12&pf_rd_p=ed85217c-14c9-4aa0-b248-e47393e2ce12&pf_rd_r=139-9204535-3864644&pd_rd_wg=rvk9V&pd_rd_r=1a892e06-01ad-4e5e-802a-e856a57daf20&ref_=aufs_ap_sc_dsk **** Cover art compiled by Andrea Soung Man image credit: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/man-destruction-double-exposure-1519665/ Wasteland image credit: https://pixabay.com/illustrations/landscape-scenery-nature-deserts-6880552/

No one ever knows the whole story... Nestled deep in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, something is emerging. Kept in absolute secrecy, it seeps into a fading town, quietly shared from person to person. For Alden Bensen, a directionless high school graduate, this discovery could mean an escape from his empty existence. To Rachel DuValle, perpetually underestimated and dismissed by the world, magic represents a chance to become something much greater than herself. In the face of an unsuspecting world, their decisions shape the growth of a budding society discovering untold power. This potent force offers anyone the power to change humanity forever - or send it cascading into swift and total annihilation. ----- The Last Science is an ongoing science-fiction / low-fantasy web novel series. Danielle Carpenter has lived a life some might call boring, but she'd always loved language, and however much her parents might say specializing in Old English is a useless waste of life, it was her passion. But things are about to change. A seemingly harmless pastime leaves her life in shambles; with all she had ever held dear gone, her life is boiled down to just struggling to stay alive. When, months later, she is rescued, it isn't to return to the life she once knew, but to one she's wholly unprepared for. She scrambles for a grasp on things as legend and reality blend. Should she let the legend play out to its foregone conclusion? Or should she try for a happily ever after for all, and the consequences be damned... *This is my 2016 NaNoWriMo project, so enjoy and as always, any feedback is greatly appreciated.*
