This story is inspired by ancient China and doesn't have a specific time period it plays out in (remember that it's a fantasy world and not meant to be 100% history accurate, it's a world I made not a documentary lol) and all characters are my own and I do not allow for them to be used (fanart or fanfics are okay as long as you give credit!), I cannot say more than that without spoiling everything! but if you enjoy reading Danmei you will surely love this! I am actively working on getting my drawings in the chapters! and I use modern (not American) time and measurement increments so that nobody has to go and google it just to keep reading lol A GENERAL TW: there is gore, SA, torture, just in general gruesome stuff but it's all part of the story line and things WILL get better, there is both a ton of hurt and a ton of comfort so do not worry! This story is about a 16 year old girl named Melody Swift. Ever since her mother died, her so-called "father" started abusing her. Kids at school are cruel, they bully her brutally just because she's different. She simply waits for everything to get better, after all what's the point in trying when the world will do whatever they can to drag you down. Her only escape from this twisted reality is a creature named Shadow. A terrifying creature that is somehow more humane than the so-called humans around her. Shadow could easily take all her problems away, but Melody refuses to take the easy way out. That is, until she just couldn't take it anymore, she takes Shadow's offer and soon her life got better. Her bullies started disappearing, showing up dead in the woods. Their bodies badly mutilated, almost unrecognizable. Life at school started getting better, she finally had human friends and even a boyfriend. Her "father" was found dead at her house. The torture had finally ended. Unfortunately this story doesn't have a happy ending, after all karma always strikes back.Complete
