It's a Deal

"I know, I know," Ben said, opening the car door. He scooped Jesse up and poured him into the backseat of the car, "I'll clean up the blood later," he smiled at Jesse, "you're okay, I promise," he turned back a moment, "I'll be right back."
As Ben walked off, the radio was playing. Jesse heard the soft hum of the music hidden beneath the sounds of the rain, pouring the town its cup of water. He was tired, but forced himself not to fall asleep because if he did, he wouldn't be able to keep his blood from spilling from the gun wound. He wiped his mouth as blood trickled down his chin.
