At the age of two, Lord Garmadons only son Lloyd has been kidnaped by an unknown enemy. The parents of the young child is drowned in sorrow. Garmadon then join forces with his brother and together they train the next generation of elemental ninjas, but one day... a mysterious dark shadow appears in ninjago.

The ninja finally defeats Lord Garmadon and Lloyd gets his dad back. Everyone is happy again, but the darkness that was in Garmadon finds its way to Lloyd which causes him to slowly become meaner and more emo. The darkness takes full control of Lloyd and makes him just as evil as his dad, but more powerful since he is still the Green Ninja. The rest of the team is left to figure out who and or what is powerful enough to destroy the evilness in him without harming their friend.
