Ella Smith was a small town girl from Wallace, West Virginia, a place many have never heard of. She lived with her mother, her father had ran out on them when she was very young, up until she was 19. Ella now lived in a small one bedroom apartment in a little city called Clarksburg, accompanied by her small Corgi, Bug. Everything in her life seemed to be small. Her home, her dog, her job, she worked as a barista at the local coffee shop a few blocks away from her apartment, even her car; that was until things mysteriously started to change. At first they too seemed to be small things changing here and there, "misplacing" things Ella could have sworn she would remember where she left them, but what happens when the big changes come along? When they are far too big to ignore? Will her friends think she's going crazy or will everyone believe her? Or maybe she won't tell anyone at all.
When Jane Madarang's neighbor Natalie kills herself and leaves behind cryptic instructions, it's up to Jane and her classmates to unearth deadly secrets.
