    Ash painted the sky black as the little girl ran, tear streaming down her face as she saw the limp bodies of her pack. Fire blazed around her, and she let out a painfilled, fearful scream as the buildings gave way, the flaming material crashing down on top of her. Although not strong, her magic was enough to help her escape, not sparing her from getting burned as she stumbled out of the destroyed town, into the dark forest. 
    
    She had no idea how long she had been traveling, her wounds reduced to dull throbs as she fell to the ground, her bare feet burned and cut. She felt the world darken, and the last thing she saw was a boy, reaching down to pick her up, his pale face and purple eyes shining with concern.(CC) Attrib. NonComm. ShareAlike
