Long ago a powerful race once existed in the world. With abilities unique to their blood, blood so black you would think you were staring into a pool of ink, the Dryadalis were a force to be reckoned with at one point in history. That is until they saw humans. Fascinated by this new race that resembled them, the Dryadalis decided to study the creatures to find out just how alike they were. Soon they discovered that, while they physically resembled each in many ways, the humans were nothing like them. The humans possessed no magical ability and they aged far faster than the Dryadalis. How strange this new race was! The greatest shock of all was when they realized just how easy it was for a human to die and yet they were even more willing to fight wars then the Dryadalis! With this newfound knowledge, the seniorem concilio made the decision to create a peace pact that would protect the lives of the lesser race. With this pact every Dryadalis was banned from using any offensive magic and were ordered to give up any magical scrolls or books that contained such magic. A pact made to bring about peace and prosperity inevitably brought about the destruction of its creators. For while the Dryadalis swore never to harm again, the humans did not. Massacred in one night, the Dryadalis never stood a chance against the creatures they had believed to be harmless. Only one survived the horrors of that night, but not by choice. This is the story of Eloina Dolorem, the girl who had the misfortune of surviving.
