Genevieve has had a difficult past, but her future is more difficult still. She was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease before going into the 12th grade. She passes time, pain, and sadness by drawing, and her boyfriend is always there to make her feel better and encourage her. Every birthday, holiday, and anniversary, he buys her one special art supply, and she always challenges herself to draw something based/using the one art supply for him.
Both suffer while on their own journey, and make many heartbreaking choices for one another and others. Each day is a waiting game as they consider how long it will take for a transplant to come Genevieve's way. What fate lies at the end of the road for both of them?
