"I waited months for you to come clean to me about Spiderman. Then the snap happened, and when we came back everything went to hell. My entire life changed, and the fact you hadn't told me didn't matter anymore, because as long as I had Peter Parker, I was going to be okay."

"I-"

"I refused and rejected my feelings for years because we were best friends, and I was content with that. I am content with that. I-"

"Let me speak!" He snapped her out of her rambling, placing his hands on her shoulders, their eyes meeting once more, "I love you too. I am in love with you."

"Pete-" Sirens. Red, white, and blue lights crept into the alley as police car after police car sped past the alleyway. She sighed, looking away from him, "Go, they need you." Peter looked from the girl he loved to the police cars passing the alley.

"If I leave will you be here when I get back?" She didn't meet his eyes, his heart ached.

"We both know I won't be Pete." Dread crept through him. His clothed hand laid on her cheek, turning her face towards him.

"I love you." And he kissed her with all the passion he could muster, getting ever bit back in return. She was the first to pull away, he rested his forehead on hers.

"I love you too." And then she was gone. Peter swung to the top of the building, his heart clenching as he watched her slip into a taxi.
