Battle erupted everywhere anytime. Weightless drift machines, spearheaded speed demons, roaring monsters built for strips, you name it. There's always something to hear, something to know, someone to beat, someone to defeat.
The nameless City lies dormant, oblivous and unknown to its antics.
Then came a man in a helmet.

****DISCLAIMER**** (The Elemental Drifters: First Stage 2017 edition was a finished product of my very first ideas of Elemental Drifters published back in 2017. The book is kept for nostalgic reasons and a show of my development in writing in the past. They've called themselves 'The Elemental Drifters' Now Louis has to fight an intergalactic war between the Light and Darkness in an epic battle to save mankind by RACING. ~ I put my foot down and drive to the first corner. The track is always wet at the start of the day as the water truck is able to go out and keep it that way, but by the end of the day all the water will have been used so it will be bone dry and that's when the real fun begins. I pull the hydro, the chrome shaft that's connected to my rear brakes, to lock the rear wheels so I can initiate a drift. I feather the throttle accordingly as to keep the car sideways and continue onto the next corner... This is it. Nothing else matters. Just me, my car, their car and the sound of tyres tearing rubber against the drying tarmac... ~ ~ "Laurie, you got something..." He trails off as his thumb brushes my lips enough to turn my head towards him. Before I know it, the space between us is closing and my body is frozen. His lips draw ever closer to mine and involuntarily, my back arches so my mouth presses against his. My lips burn with passion as I find myself unable to stop kissing him. My rational side kicks in and I pull myself away from him. What the hell am I doing? ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Laurie Williams is a wreck of a woman. Alcoholism and not giving a damn are her two main personality traits. However, when her tightly knit friend group of girl car enthusiasts find a car club to become a part of, she starts to come to life. For a moment, she leaves her old life behind. But it always finds her again. On a downward hill spiral from the beginning, she loses friendships, relationships and even herself. The only thing keeping her afloat is her love for cars. "Race, what's goin' on? Where 'ave ya been?" Crutchie asked, eyeing the boy with worry. Race ignored him and continued limping to the stairs. "Race, get back over here. Crutch and I stayed up waitin' for ya, the least you can do is tell us where youse been." "I'm fine," Race mumbled, not stopping. Jack quickly stepped forward and grabbed the younger boy's arm, not missing the way he tensed up. "C'mon Race, look at me. What's wrong?" Race slowly turned around, keeping his eyes down with the brim of his hat casting a shadow across his face. "I just had a run-in with a couple of guys who were lookin' for a fight. I got a little beat up. Really, it's nothin'." "It's not 'nothing' Race. You're walkin' worse than I do!" Crutchie exclaimed. Jack grabbed Race's chin and tipped it up and Crutchie gasped. Jack's eyes widened too as he and Crutchie got a glimpse of their brother's face. Crutchie's face turned red with anger, his hand clenching his crutch tightly.
