Caitlin Diamond hasn't been in the small town of Riverside, Georgia since she was 14. She lived in a small house with her father and little sisters. But, one night a few men broke into their home. They brutally murdered her father and sisters, and almost killed Caitlin. Caitlin, who acted in self defense, killed the invaders. Once she got out of the hospital she was sent to live with her mother, who lived all the way in Oregon. Caitlin tried to keep in contact with her two best friends, Marlon and Louis. Unfortunately, they lost contact.

Caitlin is now 16. She's about to start her junior year in high school. Suddenly, her mother announced that they're all moving back to Riverside. Why? Because Caitlin is a... troubled child. Her mother believes going back to her old life would help. And she would agree. If he wasn't coming too.

David Garcia. Step-douche. The man her mother married shortly before Caitlin had to live with them. Caitlin hates his guts, but even so, he's still coming. Besides, his own children live in Riverside. So, Caitlin has lost this battle.

Caitlin is determined to make it through Junior year with as little drama as possible. Thing is, this town is about to make Caitlin regret moving back.
