"Meg?" Thomas walked up to me, "What is it?" I still couldn't speak, my eyes only leaving the reflection of the words to look into Thomas's. I let go of my hair so that it fell back into place, covering my tattoo. Thomas nodded, almost as if I had reached out to him in his mind, but I didn't. He walked behind me, placing one of his hands on my waist as the other lightly grabbed my hair, sliding it to one side. My eyes locked on Newt now, trying to seek comfort in him before it was announced to the group what WICKED has named me. He gave me a weak smile, but I knew he was worried about me, he always worries about me. I heard Thomas trying to hold back a gasp, and felt his breath on my neck quicken. His hand around my waist tightened as if preparing to protect me after he reads the script. Then, reluctantly, he read the words out loud. ***FINAL BOOK of the Through series! Everything has its place
Thomas' new life began in a metal box lurching through an elevator shaft. Confused, scared and filled with curiosity, he thinks the boys laughing maliciously at him are going to roast him over an open fire and eat him. When that doesn't happen, he's left with too many questions about who he is and where he came from. In his heart, though, he knows that he must become a Runner. A boy who is chosen to run through their prison, a Maze, and find an escape. This is a rewrite of the Maze Runner movies. I don't really know if rewrite is the right word, but I'm using this as an opportunity to practice my writing. It'll follow the structure of the movies with minor adjustments, especially just now in the first one. Later on more adjustments will happen, I think. I also want to include Newt/Thomas in this rewrite as I find the ship cute. My writing is a bit clunky and all-over-the-place but I hope you enjoy :) Please feel free to offer constructive criticism. My arm lowered from my eyes so that my vision could adjust to my surroundings.
