"Wake up!" i did just that, continuously fluttering my eyes trying to adjust them to the recently lit light. Once my eyes adjusted i grabbed my glasses off my bedside table looking at the digital clock placed on top of my dresser on my left telling me that it is 3:14am. "I'm awake," i reply to my foster father. "what do you need this late at night" i take notice to the stumbling figure trying and failing to keep balanced while closing my bedroom door. i repeat myself after a moment of silence, "what do you need, I'm tired." "don't you worry baby girl you will soon find out." Jacob says as he approaches my bed, moving some hair that had managed to fall out of my ponytail and land in front of my face. i stare into his glassy orbs that are turning from their original form of chocolate brown to a dark black. i quickly flinch away from his touch smelling the wreaking stench of alcohol coming from his body instantly making me weak with fear. "No, no please not again"

I shakily reached for his hand and he stood, gently pulling me up with him. My gaze bounced between each of the six eyes on the mask and I got frustrated, wanting to make real eye contact with him. Vessel noticed my slight scowl and paused for a second before wearily pushing his hood back and unbuckling his mask, letting it fall to rest in his other palm. His long, shaggy black hair fell immediately into his eyes, blocking my line of sight to a majority of his face. I lean slightly away from him. "Are... Are you sure?..." I didn't want him to feel pressured to show me who he was, but I was dying to see the real him. "Promise you won't panic...?" That took me aback. Panic? Why? I furrowed my brows, confused. I nodded. "Yeah, why would I pa-" He tilted his head up and brushed his hair from his face. Six. There were still six. I panicked.
