Allison McCarthy, as she describes herself, is an average girl. With average looks. And average grades. And an average social life. Everything about her seems average. Except what happened to her in freshman year.

Drew Tanner, as he describes himself, is above average in every aspect of life. Looks? Above average. Grades? Above average. Social life? Above average. But the demons inside his head say otherwise.

The Tanner's moved to California four years ago: the summer of freshman year. So no, Allison and Cassidy Tanner, who just happens to be Drew's twin sister, aren't childhood best friends. And Allison doesn't have a brotherly bond with Drew.
