Mar is a child of the cosmic god of darkness and lives at Ulysses Academy where the children of the cosmic gods go to learn about their abilities they inherit from their parent, and how to survive with them. While she is a child of darkness, the other cosmic gods as well have children who go to the academy as well.
It is not unusual to get new children, but a new kid shows up who tells them that the original king and father of the gods, has told him that the old power of the ground is coming to claim his throne and that it needs to be stopped otherwise the shreds of reality will fall apart itself.
So the fate of reality and life as we know it is up to some teenagers.
