This story doesn't start at the beginning. Mostly because somewhere along the lines, time became blurred. The past has been altered so many times, I can't tell you where we really began. So let's just start. Somewhere along the path... Mikki is just your average teenager. Her life consists of sleeping, homework, food, Netflix, and more sleeping. That's kind of just how high school goes. But when a mysterious man throws her back in time twenty four hours, it's up to her with the help of an old friend to live her life to the fullest. At the end of those twenty four hours, she'll die. There's no stopping it or way to prevent it. So, how will Mikki spend the last twenty four hours of her life. Surely not with Netflix. And when her twenty four hours is up, she doesn't die. Instead she's taken to a secret compound by her shooter and given the opportunity to time travel. *** Come on!" I say grabbing Cam's hand. We run through the empty streets of Rio until we finally make it to the bustling crowds gathered on a single street. There's music, dancing, food, instruments, balloons, children, adults, the elderly. Everyone is out celebrating. We jump in and begin dancing with everyone. The live music makes it easy to sway your hips and dance to. For a few short minutes, I'm able to forget that I'm dying and I get to just enjoy my life. I feel a few wet drops hit my shoulder and before I know it, it begins to pour. The streets clear out and only a few people are left in the streets. Cam and I begin to laugh. I hand a random person my camera and ask them to take a picture. Then, we quickly run back to the car. We're completely soaked. "I was not expecting that." I say to Cam. "Me neither, but you gotta admit. It was pretty fun." He says. "Next stop Bora Bora." I say to Cam.

Welcome, dear reader, to a tale of high spirits and hilarious misadventure! This is the story of three teenagers from the fantastical world of Emaranta: Fredrick Deleman, the easy-going adventurer; Bailey Knosing, the clever and occasionally clumsy strategist; and Sandra Harris, the sharp and surprising new friend they haven't even met yet. Our story begins in the gleaming, sprawling metropolis of Dunya, a city in the United States of Amazon, where the suns shine bright and the rules are made to be... creatively interpreted. Bored out of their minds on a mandatory family vacation cruise-courtesy of well-meaning but utterly clueless parents-our trio (once they become a trio) find themselves banned from most of the ship's activities after a... well, let's call it a "pool noodle incident" of epic proportions. Forced to create their own fun, they stumble upon a mystery that will whisk them away from the boring lido deck and onto a road less traveled, leading them straight into the heart of my fictional world, Emaranta. Here, the normal rules don't apply. There is no death, no sorrow, no disease. It's a paradise where humanoids and animanoids live in perfect, hilarious harmony. What might look like magic to you is just another Tuesday here. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Why don't you read along and see for yourself? The adventure is just beginning.
