[[ The first book of the rewrite is out~ Check it out on my page! ]]

Cairo is a desert country dominated by fire magic. The Government is considered corrupt, the people are unhappy, and a rebellion is stirring in the depths that's set on shaking the country to its core.

Living with the citizens are creatures called Kleptos--card spirits who control powerful magic. Among them is the Fire Kleptos, Aerie. Her Pyrroh is the Fire Mage, Cairo, the boy genius named after the country. Tagging along with them is their adventure-seeking friend, Cane.

Aerie can't remember her past. There's something about her that's different, and if there's one thing for sure, it's that she's no ordinary Kleptos.

Cane wants truth and justice to prevail. The first step is getting through to the Government, but it's torn apart just like the country.

Cairo is helping Aerie gain her memories. While he travels around the country in search of clues, he's thrown right into the middle of all the trouble.

But Aerie might just be the key to something much larger than anyone could have imagined. As Cairo continues to search for her memories, a past full of secrets is brought to life that might just change the course of history.

Daffodils and Hyacinths (Book 3 of the Forgotten Truths Series) by Contrastgaze
29 parts Complete Mature
"One small incident can ruin or change a person's life - Now imagine a storm," Dusty winds spit at Sun'Tribe and her people. Cramped, multiple families are forced to huddle in one of the ruins; the only remaining proof of the original four tribes that used to stand. "Unifying us all is what should make us less insecure about ourselves, but our differences are what makes each one of us unique; special," In Sun'Tribe, everyone is the same. No traditions, no religion, no abilities, no culture, not even the way someone dresses themselves can be different. Dull, brown clothes, with hair cut down and pulled back in a simple manner. Difference is only for their Leader. The supreme ruler who never goes hungry, and lives in a large palace just for herself. It isn't until two lowly commoners take in the last of the outcasts, that their world sees a future of life again. ~*~ Written by the beas-TEAS, @EChO11111111111 (old acc: Echo__IsNoFurry) and @Ripplestream11 ; also credit to our friend who is not comfortable sharing her name (As of right now, Echo's account isn't working, AGAIN, so check both for updates) You don't have to read the other previous two books of this series to understand this book. "Forgotten Truths" is more of a backstory-based book, for the old tribes and some of the characters, which takes place a little over a decade before "Daffodils and Hyacinths", and the main details to understand this book are in "The Place where Dreams Fade," but if you're new, you should be caught up after reading 'TRIBES AND RULERS' and the Prologue. Updates might be a little irregular depending on our schedule We all hope you choose to give "Daffodils and Hyacinths" a go! NOTE: This book is not a fanfic, nor does it have any relation to "The Last Airbender" or "Legends of Korra". We definitely do see how it can be related to that, but we did not intend for that to be the outcome. Thank you!

At seven years old, Christine Elar was taken to live with her father after the lands who bore her laid a curse on her blood, forever banishing the girl from ever returning to the only home she had known. For years she trained, becoming at nineteen a skilled scholar and strategist, worthy heiress of her father's lands. But there had always been a voice that called her, a voice from her previous life as an alterkin; because no matter how far she strayed from the broken lands, still her mystic blood ran through her veins and fed her flaming heart. Now, the kingdom faces an unstoppable climb to power, quickly becoming the supremacy among the countries of the continent; and as her father's secret weapon, she is dragged along to the capital to discuss the future of the country, where she learns about a plan to conquer the lands all previous kings could only dream with. Those same lands who cursed her with the mystic blood that allows her to transform into her "otherself", that same blood that has until now allowed her father to deliver to the crown the victories that had allowed the kingdom to flourish. Christine now faces a few choices alongside new and unexpected friendships as she questions the certainty of her story. What were the otherkin, and what had they done that made humans so despise them? What had she, as an infant, done that made her lands banish her? Were the answers to these questions worth enough to make her refuse her father's orders, going against the only family that hadn't renounced her, or would she never find the truth, and instead bring her friends down into a destiny worse than death alongside her as she makes the wrong choice?

When the girls decide to skip the rest of the first day back, they're attacked in the woods behind their school. Anna is kidnapped after being mistaken for Alice, as a result of Tate's interference, and inevitably falls for Prince Alexander, brother of Kane. While their relationship blossomed, so did Alice and Tate's as she grieved the loss of her friend she assumed was dead until anonymously receiving photos of Anna being held prisoner. This newfound power of hers, along with the unbreakable bond she shares with Anna, simply wouldn't allow her to run away and hide. She was not about to go down without a fight. With the help of Tate and his reluctant grandmother, both descendants of a bloodline of pure-blood witches, Alice is determined to save Anna from the clutches of the bloodsuckers. Even if it means she must sacrifice herself or take Anna's place.
