There was once when an earthquake occured, and a mother and her son were trapped.
When they were finally rescued, only the boy survived. His mother had sacrificed herself, bit her fingers till they bled and let her son drink her blood so that he would not go hungry.
But, that's not the end of the story.
Oh, what happened to that boy?
He was bullied till no end. He was called 'murderer' because he had 'killed his mother' when he was just a baby.
Everyone avoided him. Both out of fear of him and out of fear of being bullied along with him. Instead, they went along with the bullies. Calling him names. Beating him till he bled, till he begged them to stop.
They kept reminding him of his 'crime', of how he had killed his mother.
You know, when you are told something for a really long time, you start to believe it.
That's what happened to Evan. Twelve years later, he truly believed he was a murderer, that he did not belong on Earth.
He believed that he deserved all the pain in the world because of his crime.
