Fantasy, horror, and science fiction are my favorite genres to read. They are also my favorite to write. I've enjoyed writing since I won my first writing contest in the fourth grade. That was over twenty-five years ago and I haven't shared a sinlge word of it. Imposter syndrome is a bitch! Well, I finally managed to pull the trigger. Here is "O Negative". It's a mix of all of my favorite genres. I've mixed a fantasy, based on present-day Earth, with plenty of graphic horror and wrapped it all up within a world driven by the technological advancements that only can be obtained from millions of years of civilation. A small group of strangers find themselves surviving in a decimated world. It's bad enough to be stranded in a no-name town, but things become surreal when you realize the vast majority of humanity has died...it becomes terrifying when you realize you aren't that lucky to be alive. "Survivor's Guilt" isn't a thing when you find yourself the sole food source for an entire group of beings that no longer need to hide in the shadows. Man is no longer at the top of the food chain...they are now the cattle.

She was mine long before she knew it. I had been raised in shadows, in a world where power was survival and choice was an illusion. But then there was her. She slipped into my life unexpectedly and defiantly, her eyes too bright for a town like this one. She was unafraid of what lay beneath the surface, thinking she could walk away and resist the pull. But every step she took only bound her tighter to me. She was delicate but stubborn, fierce enough to face what others ran from, even if she didn't fully see it yet. She was the only thing I had ever chosen. I would break anything to keep her, everything, even her illusions of freedom. Because in a world that offered no choices, she became my one certainty.
