Cobalt and Spike are two gargoyles. Two rookery brothers. Living on the roof of the Public Library of Boston, they've learnt to understand the human beings they share the city with. Under the protection of Megan Fawkes, a simple archive owner who dedicated her life to protecting them, the two brothers share different opinions on their kind. While Spike is convinced they are the last gargoyles on earth, Cobalt holds the firm hope that their antic and noble race has not disappeared. The small clan decides to search for answers the library cannot bring them, and this quest leads them to Manhattan.
