In pieces but still working

Skylar Staller has a never thought of herself as an 'important person'. With her heart condition that has put her in a hospital bed for quite a while, and few friends, she always thought of herself as a girl who would never be good enough. She loves life, her friends, ice cream, and can never get enough of singing or listening to music. Her condition has made it tough for her to maintain a education and normal life, but she tries her hardest. It's not like people pay attention to her, anyways. She is just another girl who is in a bad position. She is a time-bomb, not knowing when her heart will truly give out on her, yet she stays positive. She even manages to fall for the high school basketball star, Dallas Atakens. Sadly, every other girl in school has fallen for him, too. But, when he finds her one day and sees that him an her are more alike on the inside, things change. The thing is, will life be fair for them both, and what happens when hearts can carry bad luck?
