Cassie Martin has always prided herself on being very good at handling unexpected things. This is why, when her mother died a year ago, she didn't hesitate to adopt her younger sister so that they wouldn't have to be apart. However, raising a little girl on your own when you're barely 20 years old yourself is no easy feat. Cassie's been managing though, and she's happy with the life she's been able to build for herself and her sister. However, when Nathaniel Clarke, a boy at her University, starts taking an interest in her, Cassie is reluctant. She's not sure how to let a boy into this new life that she's so carefully constructed, or how he would even fit into it. She tries to keep her distance, but he keeps pushing to get closer to her. What'll happen when Nathaniel threatens to break down all the walls that Cassie's worked so hard to build?
