The only problem is Percy has failed to receive Athena's blessing in dating (maybe even eventually marrying) her daughter. Percy will do anything for Annabeth, so it doesn't come as a surprise when Athena makes a proposition. If Percy can make it through a quest assigned and designed by the wisdom goddess herself, he will have Athena's blessing to date her prized daughter.
