"This is very odd..." He murmured, inspecting my precarious position. "What part?" I responded. "The fact that my leg's stuck in a door, or that I haven't gone insane from not being able to move yet?"
"It's just that...you should not have even been able to come this far through the door."
"I'm sorry, are you saying you jumped through that door and made me follow you even though you knew--or thought you knew--that I wouldn't have been able to go after you?!"
"Technically, I never made you follow me. That was your choice."
"I can't wait to get my leg out of this door so I can kick you right where it hurts."
"You know, you're quite aggressive."
"You're not the first person who's said that."
"Somehow I didn't think I was."
By the time this interchange was over he had freed my leg using some sort of witchcraft, so I delivered on my promise and he bent over and groaned, clutching his spot and grimacing with pain.

She could see them at all times, it was part of her magesight, most of what she needed when bending space was picking the right type of space to bend, some runes would never bind to regular matter, which was why it was so difficult to make a permanently distorted area since those runes were everywhere, tiny and hidden by Gium when he made the world. Sora is a better witch than wolf, though not by much, but she still pursues that craft in spite of the dangers. Her place in the world is a dangerous one, but will it last? The world she lives in is a dangerous one, and such a life as hers rarely ends happily. Disclaimer: this is a short prequel, Sora's story does not conclude with this one. If you finish this book and go "oh, that's the end?" it's because it's not the end.
