Ellis has a knack for getting into trouble-- a knack that soon lands her in Pyrnna, where her reality is flipped upside down and she learns family secrets that were never meant to be told--secrets that connect her by blood to one of the most prestigious races in the universe, secrets that mean she may never return to her previous way of life...whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen. And even battles with sorceresses, the death of her loved ones, and a crippling disorder won't prepare her for one simple fact... that her best friend is a (socially awkward) elf. Oh, this should be fun. ~EXCERPT~ "This is very odd..." He murmured, inspecting my precarious position. "What part?" I responded. "The fact that my leg's stuck in a door, or that I haven't gone insane from not being able to move yet?" "It's just that...you should not have even been able to come this far through the door." "I'm sorry, are you saying you jumped through that door and made me follow you even though you knew--or thought you knew--that I wouldn't have been able to go after you?!" "Technically, I never made you follow me. That was your choice." "I can't wait to get my leg out of this door so I can kick you right where it hurts." "You know, you're quite aggressive." "You're not the first person who's said that." "Somehow I didn't think I was." By the time this interchange was over he had freed my leg using some sort of witchcraft, so I delivered on my promise and he bent over and groaned, clutching his spot and grimacing with pain.

"Make we keep this professional then, yeah?" I nodded slowly, one hand in my pants pocket. "What?" Her brows creased. "I'll be your tutor and nothing else. Nuh need dis pan a personal level," I explained. Maybe it's for the best. And mi still a convince miself dat cause it still hurt me. Mi vex wid her... Wicked too. Cause she fuck up. She licked her lips and looked down at the desk before saying, "...but that isn't what I want. I have agreed to give you time." Time. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. "Yuh nuh get fi choose that still eno. This is what I want and those are my boundaries. Respect them or find someone else fi tutor yuh, simple." I sighed, scratching my head. Mi just nuh wah di drama and foolishness. I shrugged my shoulders. // Liam was once a bright, joyful child until something shattered his world at just nine years old. Whatever happened that year left scars too deep to see, turning smiles into silence and laughter into rage. By fifteen, he was behind bars. Now eighteen, he's out with one last shot: six months to finish high school and finally leave his past behind. He's focused. Detached. Determined to stay invisible - no fights, no friends, no drama. Then he sees her. Kazierah. His childhood crush. His first kiss. The girl he never forgot. ...the one he never stopped loving even when he wanted to. She's changed too. She had more friends and she was more social than he remembered. They never dated, never made it official, but the connection between them always ran deep... too deep to ignore now. And as old feelings resurface, so do old questions - about the past, about that day he was taken away, and about why their paths are crossing again now, after everything. Some stories never really end. They wait. And this one is just beginning.
