"It's just that...you should not have even been able to come this far through the door."
"I'm sorry, are you saying you jumped through that door and made me follow you even though you knew--or thought you knew--that I wouldn't have been able to go after you?!"
"Technically, I never made you follow me. That was your choice."
"I can't wait to get my leg out of this door so I can kick you right where it hurts."
"You know, you're quite aggressive."

By the time this interchange was over he had freed my leg using some sort of witchcraft, so I delivered on my promise and he bent over and groaned, clutching his spot and grimacing with pain.

I turn my head to the side at the right angle so he won't see the blushing mess I am right now. Good thing I put on shorts. "You shouldn't be worried about me seeing some skin, afterall, I'm not a pervert, I'm a serial killer. She bent the space at first, not so much drawing runes in the air as she was pulling them into sight. She could see them at all times, it was part of her magesight, most of what she needed when bending space was picking the right type of space to bend, some runes would never bind to regular matter, which was why it was so difficult to make a permanently distorted area since those runes were everywhere, tiny and hidden by Gium when he made the world. Sora is a better witch than wolf, though not by much, but she still pursues that craft in spite of the dangers. Her place in the world is a dangerous one, but will it last? The world she lives in is a dangerous one, and such a life as hers rarely ends happily. Disclaimer: this is a short prequel, Sora's story does not conclude with this one. If you finish this book and go "oh, that's the end?" it's because it's not the end. I'm writing a trilogy called Mortance that explores the larger world that this takes place in and concludes Sora's story more thoroughly than in this book.
