This is July. Always high spirits, with charm talent, and popularity, has her life planned out, with everything in place, the way she likes it. The way she thinks it's supposed to be.
But then, the tornado strikes. July's town is destroyed, her and her foster family have to move to a nearby town. Now, they are staying with another foster family, going to a new school, and  July is trying to re-plan her life out.
Now meet Winter. Strong, and gentle. He is often picked on and misunderstood. When the tornado hits a nearby town, and another foster family moves in with his foster family, he sees this opportunity to get friends and maybe become popular. But soon he starts to see more.
Now let me tell you the most interesting part; throughout most of the book July and Winter are 8.
