In those stories these rules do not always apply. I will stick to standard destined mates/mate pull and other genre staples for those.
In these chapters I will eventually include information on:

ecology
ethnology
myth and religion
tribal histories
relationships with non-shifters
warfare
... and whatever else I can think of.
so far I have 15 subject headings to work on but only a few filled in.

There was nothing but utter silence around me. It was deafening. My ears perked as I heard hissing sounds come from the vent and it made me feel weak and the door to the dungeon open. I could smell something but couldn't tell what the vapors released from the vents were burning my nostrils. I could hear foot steps drawing to my cell. The lights flicked on and I squinted to see a tall and broad figuring standing at my cell door, unlocking it, and walking in. The aura this man was giving out was making it hard not to tremble. I quickly stood up and bowed. "What is your name" he bellowed kinda muffled. I panicked and quickly remembered that the guards had not checked me before putting me in here. I pulled out my speech device and began typing...I looked up for a split second just to see a fist plummeting towards me and everything became fuzzy. I could hear screams but could not make out what was being said. Over the Wall: A Collection of Short Stories (NaNoWriMo 2014)
This year for NaNoWriMo, I am writing a short story anthology. It will feature thirty or so short stories (my hope is to write one per day to fulfill my 1,667 per day word requirement) about varying things. Each morning, I will randomly select a number between one and thirty and I will look at the corresponding list of first lines I will have. I will take that line and write a short story using it and then the next day I will do the process over again (some stories might relate to each other, some might not). Anyway I will edit the story for that day and post it here. It may not be posted exactly on the corresponding day, but in the end there will be thirty short stories. P.S. Although these are somewhat edited they are still rough drafts so please treat them as such.Complete

It's about how she got her mate to reject her without revealing she's a werewolf. - Stereotyped is the type of male young were females hope they get. - Incel is severe immaturity in group form. - Monotony is a tired rich playboy. - Misogyny is about an arrogant boxer whose mate is better. - Husband Material is about a man who will not be shaken off "the one", not even by a Civil War era African Alpha whose territory the couple is invading. - Desperation is about finding your mate after you are happily married. - Curmudgeon is about a grumpy tech who momentarily fails his own moralizing lectures. - Costly is an eccentric multi-millionaire who finds out his secretary is a secret agent werewolf. - Old Faithful is about a Civil Rights era African American human who grew up protected in an Alabama pack, who meets his mate on an interview about his memories of the era.
