'Jaiden couldn't concentrate for the rest of his classes. His mind was buzzing with everything that could go wrong. He rewrote all the notes over and over, picking out every line, every word. The possibility of a world hidden within his own seemed to only be a concept that was possible in fairytales but at the same time, it was all so real. The more he thought about Ms. Crodsfer, the more it all made sense.'

"You know it won't go to the West," he said dropping his voice. "Maybe you're wrong. Who knows," she shrugged. Her shoulders had slumped but she had managed to not let any tears spill. "Baum knew what he was doing when he made the West wicked, Mary," he hissed. "The East was wicked in that book too, dumbass," Mary retorted. Jacob's hands went into fists to keep from pushing at his hair. The tree behind them began to shake slightly.
