Talamayas Sol loses his mother when he stumbles upon a mage in the deserts of his territory, and he is plunged into a despair he's never known. Stricken with grief, he imprisons the murderer and wipes out every last mage of the Song-a human supremacist mage family that had murdered his kind for nothing more than the joy of their extinction. Through his pain, Talamayas finds himself leaning on the man in his dungeons, be it only to torture him for the relief it grants. It was anger at first, but as he learns more about the circumstances of his mother's death and the terrors that fill Wren Song's nightmares, he is inescapably tethered to the man in his dungeons. Why can't he just kill Wren Song and move on with his life? What keeps him close to the mage and anxious when he leaves his side? Is there more to it than obsession and a need to crush the enemy of his past? If there is, what does that mean for him and his people? Take a step back to the start and follow Talamayas Sol and Wren song through their struggle in the deserts of the east. Learn just where their animosity began and how working together changes and shapes the hearts and minds of men grown in a time when violence was the only way forward. Old feuds, new worlds, and a love that will last a lifetime... Ever since her dad mysteriously abandoned her family, life on the Clifton Estate hasn't been all that exciting for 16-year-old Marla True. Her Mum constantly works to make ends meet, which means Marla has to put up with gossipy old Bev keeping an eye on her and noisy little half-sister Ribbon. If that wasn't bad enough, her exam results are in... and they aren't good. But at least she has her friends. Asher, the responsible and strong boy who has known her all her life and Ed, the orphaned rebel who loves to stir up trouble. Then there's her, Marla, stubborn, fiery and just plain lost. Life on the estate is same-old same-old, until the senile World War Two veteran, Mr. Pelham, starts freaking Marla out with his staring and rambling, cryptic messages. Is he trying to warn her? Or hurt her? When the bored trio decide to teach the creepy old man it's rude to scare young girls, they learn far too late just how crucial it is to respect your elders. For his daughter, Bridget, has a power unlike anything they've ever seen before and she uses her deadly craft to send them to a place that will teach them the lesson of their lifetime. Bridget has sent them back in time, all the way to World War Two, throwing them into a secret fight for the survival of all magical folk in the world. Marla soon learns what it really means to be a True, and the power her absent father has kept from her all her life... Marla, Ed and Asher are thrown into a world they and their generation have no comprehension of, a world where love is a relic of a life left behind and your only duty is sacrificing all that you have. These three friends are about to learn about a side of World War Two that never made the history books. ***I can't take credit for the artwork, it's called A BREAK IN REALITY and it's by the AMAZINGLY talented Xenobyte on deviantart. Seriously check his stuff out. I'm in love with that imagination.***

Yet, when Selene begins dreaming of a mysterious man with amber eyes, fragments of her memories begin to return.
