In a world where the Mystic society lives hidden in our modern world, a prophesied war hangs over everyone's heads. Kana Young, a Mystic who has gone against her Calling and therefore the Mystic Society itself, is on the run. At the mercy of Fate himself, she must remain in the city of Menrail, CA where she is forced to join a team of Lost Mystics (teenagers who have only recently learned about their Callings: Marcus, Kannu, Kyle, and Lang) and fight against the Shifters who are planning a dangerous ritual that includes using their elemental energies and Kana. All the while she continually goes against Fate's demands in hope of stopping the war from happening. But in the end, she is powerless to stop the hands of Fate.
