Battles between the kingdoms of life and death have plagued the earth since the banishment of angels. The decision to banish fragments of the light was not by choice but an attempted to restore balance to the earth. Without darkness, the light would fail and cause the world to collapse in on itself. Many angels thought it humiliating to be banished to a place without the rule of god. So, banishment was made punishment. Any angel to betray the throne was sent to Hell for eternity, taking on a devilish form. Banished angels were sent to hell where they were de-winged, de-hearted and marked as in-pure. Such an act had to be done by an archdemon, a spiritual entity permitted to the infernal hierarchy as a leader of demons. They'd shackle and torture the perpetrators of Heaven's throne; ruthlessly littering their porcelain flesh with burns and blood filled gashes. If the victim were to die, they were seen as to weak and unfit for a place such as Hell.
