Chapter One complete!!! "No, no it's only been a few minutes. I said to myself. The drug would take at least half an hour to break down in my bloodstream. I was growing impatient. The rarity of LSD these days meant I could only get my hands on it a handful of times. Relax. Be patient. It was an incredibly simple mantra but it helped. I was waiting for the destruction of my mind in every way. A 'reset button' if you will. If there is beauty in destruction, why not also in it's delivery? I thought. The music became almost digitalized and it echoed through the untouched pieces of my soul more than it ever had."

It truly is amazing how quickly your life can get flipped upside down. Actually, I take that back. In my case, it was more like my life was flipped upside down, turned inside out, spun around in circles, and blown up. I wish I was kidding. One minute I was an ambitious fifteen-year-old, working part time at the Marine Research Institute, and the next, BAM! I was preparing to risk everything to help a specimen I caught in the first place escape from the facility. And it wasn't any ordinary specimen like plankton or bioluminescent fish, either. It was a mermaid. **some cursing**
