If there is one thing 15 year old Kaylea Baker believes, it's that if something seems to good to be true, it probably is, and It's hard to blame her. Between running from Bella McCalister and her goons (bullies who makes her life a living hell), helping her mom around the house, and school, Kay has very little time for pleasure. her father died in a horrific natural disaster, leaving her and her mother to face the world alone. Although Kay has excepted her life, she can't help wishing that someone would come a save her, someone like the heroes in her favorite TV series "Once upon a time". After a practically exhausting day, a nasty storm hits, providing her with very little rest. When she awakes, however, she is shocked to see her world has flipped upside down! What she believed to be fiction was now real. Her favorite character (Killian Jones) from Once Upon a Time has been magically trapped in our world! Unfortunately, she has no time for joy, as she discovers that Killian will soon parish if not returned to his realm. Determined to save her hero, Kay and her best friend, Iris Walker, fight to get Killian home in time. However, they soon come to a startling realization that might jeopardize the entire operation and Killian's life; they are in a land without magic.
