I originally started this story as a submission to the @ScienceFiction #scifiholiday contest. I didn't finish it it time to qualify, but it seemed promising enough to finish.

Self-Assembly Required: Human civilization has been almost entirely destroyed by a catastrophic plague of nanites, but one city remains, hidden and protected by Hydra, a team of all-female nano/human hybrids. I did the one thing I promised her I would never do, no matter what, and now she hates me.
