Space adventurer Buzz Lightyear loses his partner during a mission and resolves to never jeopardize another person's life again. But Buzz's commander, Nebula, finds him a replacement anyway: Princess Mira Nova. Meanwhile, Buzz's nemesis, nefarious Emperor Zurg, plots to steal the Uni-mind, a valuable device that facilitates the little green men's collective thought process; without it, the whole race is useless.

Sheriff Woody, a good-hearted cowboy doll, who belongs to a boy named Braedey Martin, now sees his position as Braedey's favourite toy jeopardized when his mother buys him a Buzz Lightyear action figure, and a special doll along with him for Braedey's birthday. But, Woody's partner, Braedimus Prime, a good-Sparked Autobot action figure, reassures him it won't come to that. But worse, the arrogant Buzz thinks he's a real spaceman on a mission to return to his planet. When Braedey's family prepare to move out to a new house, Woody, Braedimus, the new doll, and Buzz must escape the clutches of tormentor neighbour Sid Phillips and reunite with their owner before they move out. When Woody's arm rips, he ends up on the shelf, missing cowboy camp. He and Mighty Eagle rescue a toy from a yard sale, but are then stolen by a greedy toy collector, who plans to sell them and his collections to a museum in Tokyo. This leads to Buzz and many of Andy's toys to go out on a journey to the city to rescue their friends before it's too late. Bound by code and honor, they pledge themselves to defend the weak, rescue the lost, and protect the helpless. At least, that's what Ionia is hoping. Her planet kingdom is in a state of peril; plagued by a disease that hasn't been seen for a hundred years, she is the piece of resistance to finding a cure, a pawn to be traded off for the greater good. A hero is exactly what she needs to find a different way to save her people. So with only a child's fairy tale and a need for freedom, she and the gallivanter Carson must embark upon a quest to find a race of people long believed to be dead, who may or may not know the location of an ancient treasure. Ionia's hope is that it can be used as a pawn instead of her own life; that is, if they can find it in time. Their quest will bring them all manner of trouble: wars, love, magic itself, and the ever-pressing thought that maybe the story in Ionia's book really is just a work of fiction.Complete
