If we stayed there any longer, we would have died. Earth was no longer our home, but instead a barren waste land from which we had to escape. It's not like I asked for this. I didn't ask. I didn't want this. But now there's nothing in this world that I could want more. Him, next to me. Smiling. Us sitting next to each other. Holding hands.
