Having to live a lie is catching up with her. The walls she's built to protect herself are crumbling down, brick by brick. She's injured, wounded so that she has to rely on someone else. Someone else who might turn out to her unknowing savior -- or ruin.
But when Axel suddenly disappears, it'll take all her wits to find him. She'll have to battle her new-found feelings every step of the way. It might even take revealing her darkest secret to her rescuer. June teams up with an unlikely band, tracking down Axel's path and fighting his captors for his rescue.

My vision was growing ever more blurry with each second that passed. Breathing seemed like a luxury now and my legs wanted to give out and let me collapse.
Almost there. We were so close. So close.
I fell, completely spent.
Axel glanced over his shoulder and screeched to a halt, sprinting back over. I could see the worry in his eyes. I could faintly hear him calling my name. My body was throbbing as I gazed with glazed eyes at the street tiles.
The last thing I saw before my vision turned dark was dirty blonde hair and a pair of sky blue eyes.
