Patricia is trying.
That's it. She's just trying, at everything, all the time. Trying to succeed at schoolwork despite being pretty average, intelligence-wise. Trying to maintain her friendships despite always being busy. Trying to keep the flat neat, since her dad's always working and her mum's busy with a million and one other things. Trying to make time to see a boyfriend who, what with all the other things she has to do, is quite frankly barely on her radar at this point. And especially trying to learn to love the little sister always foisted on her- trying to love her unconditionally, without imagining if she was different, or, more to the point, not different at all.
Rosemary is muddling through life as best she can- which is not terribly well. Schoolwork isn't a problem, as none of her teachers have ever expected any kind of academic output from her. Friendships are difficult, because no matter how much she tries she can't seem to form any. Her one (self-assigned) chore is to keep all of her toys neat, clean, and orderly. Her biggest problem is family- she always finds herself struggling to please but not quite sure how to.
Neither Rosemary nor Patricia are a big fan of change. But change is inevitable, and when Rosemary is sent away from home for a week, their dynamic shifts. Patricia is no longer the centre of Rosemary's universe, and Patricia is no longer willing to sacrifice her life for her sister's sake. But as Patricia loses her sister's trust, and Rosemary seems to get more wildly out of control, they have to decide what in their lives they hold dearest. Is Patricia ready to make a choice between her carefully cultivated image and her beloved nightmare of a sister? Is Rosemary able to avoid choosing between her family and the only person who she's ever understood?

When health complications arise for her, and her friend group is falling apart around her as she can't guide them, she'll have to ask the essential questions that she can't simply answer in a quick sentence. The questions that she has long dismissed as unimportant. Is this what she truly wants, to be solely fulfilled by everyone else depending on her for support? And where does she draw the line? This story touches on potentially triggering content, including the use of slurs, toxic family relationships, anxiety, anger, and death. Settling Slowly
2015 rolled in with a bang, and it did not have the grace to gift me with a social life that everyone in a one hundred year radius would be jealous of or that is even just the talk of the town. Instead I got myself into a complicated relationship which wasn't much talked about, a relationship that I didn't get into is talked about all the time and university is around the figurative corner. That is where you can factor in people I suppose I should call 'fans', the fascination that comes in with cutlery, pots, pans and other formerly boring things. But let us not forget that my parents are finally getting married and Mum can't shop for lace without me wanting to kill her, add in a dose of sleepless nights, invigorating kisses - which have nothing to do with the sleepless nights and a lot to do with nightmares - Harriet not knowing the meaning of the words "you're done" and Ice Ice Baby is still a thing. We're all growing up (except Dad who will still make inappropriate jokes at every inappropriate moment, some to do with what cannot be done when you're wearing a plaster cast) and holidays are being planned though some are less holiday and more a mad dash to find somewhere to live out in the big wide world without our parents. Within this narrative, we witness the teenage Arlon and Liliana embarking on a profound struggle for their love. Arlon, grappling with the challenges of Autism, finds himself locked in a relentless battle for acceptance within his family, who remain ensconced in denial regarding his condition. This, in turn, engenders vehement criticism of his deepening bond with the unwaveringly supportive Liliana. On the other hand, Liliana's fervent devotion propels her into the fray, as she willingly confronts the formidable resistance posed by Arlon's parents in her unwavering pursuit of her beloved autistic boy, Arlon. I consider this story to be "Apocryphal" for I'm not sure if I will include this to the canon of the Arlon and Liliana series, but one thing is sure that this narrative is originally written as a loose reflection of the family I'm living with, as loosely draws its inspiration from the trials and tribulations I endured during my formative teenage years, a period marked by my recent diagnosis of Autism.Lengkap
