It's 2044. With the globe at it's max population, a world-wide government forces adolescents ages 13-21 into the workforce, leaving adults to their care. Teens around the world take up all sorts of jobs, from desk work to piloting airplanes. Life pretty much sucks. Their food is rationed. Siblings are separated. Their living arrangements are horrific. Elise Olson never thought she'd get used to life after The Taking, but fighting fires alongside four tough guys tends to get real pretty fast. Of course, just when she's getting into a groove, talk of revolution makes its rounds through their camp and Elise finally decides enough is enough.

And unless you want to get kicked out of your dome, you don't leave. 16-year-old Mia doesn't expect to see a male in her life, until her dome takes one in as prisoner. Archer, a 16-year-old teen with a mission on his mind and a determined heart. But little does Mia know he was on his way to The Alliance. Something Mia will be a big part of.
