Emma Gursberg. Hot shot lawyer, 50% of the Markensons firm belongs to her. What else does she need? A young successful lawyer. But life doesn't always go in the direction which Humans yearn for.
"So who is this guy?"I asked confidently. I didn't want to jump into this without actually figuring out why this case was being transferred to the head besides it had been transferred from one lawyer to another for the last 6 months twice.
"Nothing you need to worry about, 2nd degree murder charges. The guy's been set up, some of the evidence has been filed already and on your table. You can trust me Em, I just have some personal issues with this case which is why I don't prefer working with those people that's all" Garret, my former intern and now a full fledged lawyer at Markesons firm said . I knew I could trust him but still this case didn't set with me well but I'm the head here, I cannot back down a case like this.
"Okay. I'll go for it but I need you to tell me the reason why you can't work this case and don't give me the 'personal' excuse. I need a reason and now." I said with full determination, I knew him pretty well, he would have to tell me no matter what.
"I'm their legal uncle and I don't want them finding this out"

He finally find's a home where he feels like he's family, He has a mom, dad and a brother. 4 years later things happen and everything start's to go wrong. People die and people you thought you knew show a whole different side. Garret finds himself distancing from everybody. Because if he's not close to anybody, they cant get hurt. Right? One day while at a fight he runs into Keeley, who is a spirited and confident little fireball. when they met it left an impression on Garret, soon he finds himself wanting to know her more. and soon, he find's himself falling for her. I honestly didn't realize how broken I was. I just figured that if I shut all my feelings out that they would go away. They didn't. They came back strong as ever.
