After the sudden death of his infamously unlucky father, 17 year old Philip Grimm is convinced that his life can't possibly get any worse.
Until it does.
Forced to leave behind everything he's ever known, Philip finds himself in a whole new world in which he's must forget whatever broken pieces of his life he had before and start rebuilding from scratch, a feat that's difficult enough without throwing high school, girls and dumb, narcissistic teenagers into the mix. Add a pair of unconventional twin sisters, a handful of extravagant Latinos and the sweltering heat of Arizona, and Philip finds himself in over his head, drowning in a different life he'd never even wanted in the first place.
But despite the firm belief that he's cursed-reiterated through a life of misfortune and hardship-Philip is surprised to soon realize that, perhaps, new beginnings aren't as terrifying a prospect as he originally thought. You just need a handful of decent people and a bit of luck.
At least, that's what he begins to believe.
Before everything spirals into a nightmarish horror that no one is prepared for. Forget unlucky. The curse of this teenage boy had crossed states with him.
