Ever since Teddy's mother died in a car crash, his father turned towards alcohol; drowning his sorrows, and took his anger out on the 6 year old. He blamed the kid with what had happened in the accident, considering Teddy was the only one besides the mother in the car. It got to the point where he believed it himself.
Pretty soon Teddy was whisked up into care - alone, scared, but with a taste of revenge - wondering if he'll ever fit in.
