I poked my head through the door to my room which just happened to be slightly ajar to ensure the coast was clear. My bag was crammed tight with anything I deemed necessary to keep me alive for the next few days. Allowing my eyes time to adjust to the darkness of the rest of the house that lay outside of my room, I scanned the area for anyone in my path. There was no point to having the tv considering the fact that we didn't have cable, nor movies to play in the DVD player. But that wouldn't matter to me if I was able to make it out alive.
