Anne Young is sixteen, on summer vacation, and restless. She wants to travel the world, be everyone, do everything; but she seems to be stuck in the same fucking rut. Until she goes out for a jog at 2:12 in the morning because she can't sleep and literally runs into Nox Moonbeam, who's staying with her aunt, Anne's neighbor, for the summer. Nox is seventeen, smokes, has several tattoos, and has blue hair.
During the summer, Anne can't get out much. She has a license but no car, due to financial problems. So the only people she can hang out with are Nox and the annoying twelve year old boy next door. Naturally, she chooses Nox, who changes her drastically. Anne starts to question her sexuality, her morals, and everything else she's ever known in a glorious manner that all teens should experience.
But Nox is only there for the summer. When August rolls around, it's time for her to leave.
