Jace is a vampire from the 1600s. He was bitten as an act of mercy before the black death claimed him just as it claimed his family. The vampire who changed him is unknown. Jace now wanders the streets of New York helping young vampires learn the ropes and teach them how to live off of animal blood

Max is one of these "newborns". Jace found him on the streets and took him in. Now Max and Jace live in an underground nightclub meant only for vampires. Both good and bad.

After a mysterious man begins to befriend her while working at her job, a night of sex turns into the start of everything she thought she could handle into a whirlwind of challenges. It's easy to kill a person in the movies or in a book because it's fiction. But actually suck the life out of a living being and it be her new reality, that's a whole different ballgame. Nadine Burns must now learn to face being a Newborn vampire in a world where there is no kindhearted feelings and sunshine and rainbows.
