Kendall Warnell thought that moving away from the place she was possessed would help her be able to move on from the traumatizing experience but it hasn't. She doesn't fit in in her new school and town and she misses her friends and thinks the move was a mistake. And as if her life couldn't be more complicated enough, supernaturals have been announced to the world and everything around her is growing even more confusing and chaotic, and on top of that, she has to move back to Raven City, the place she was possessed. Moving back is challenging enough, but the revelation of supernaturals makes it almost terrifying, and the fact that her next-door neighbors are shapeshifters makes it even more horrifying. However, her mysterious neighbors help reveal a huge secret in her past that's going to make her life even more difficult and she has no idea how she's going to be able to navigate her even more complicated life.
