Hope McAllister is filled with. . . well, hope--as her name states. She believes the world is wonderful, and bad things that happen are made that way for a purpose. She is kind to everyone and helps people in any way she can. Although all this is true, she can also recognize pain when she sees it. When she does, you can guess what she will do--she helps them. Many people come to her for help and advice, and she has many friends.

She is known for being the kindest girl in their school--Fairview High--and many people know of her in the small town of Fairview, Montana. Having a population of about 700 people, many people know of her, and vice versa.

One day she runs into the bad boy a.k.a. loner of her school. She wonders why she hasn’t met him--or at least heard of him--since she knows many people in Fairview. The boy has a dark past--one that might ruin her beautiful image of the world she was born in and know.
