There are a lot of things people said she couldn't do. Pitching a no hitter was one. Having an impeccable inning was another. Getting anywhere with her baseball career was the base of everything she was told she couldn't do. And she proved them all wrong. When she was a kid she'd taught herself how to do everything with her left hand, she had to. With her right wrist broken and locked away in a cast she wouldn't sit still without doing something to help her brothers baseball team. She learned how to throw with her left hand, pitch and bat. And then she became a switcher. Her brother James, who was older by ten minutes and forty two seconds (he would only spell it out), was the only person she had to prove herself to. Maybe her father. Then he went and got taken to the majors right out of high school and was sent to the Cubs to be their catcher. Fucking traitor.
